With indoor-outdoor space, smooth beats, live local music, and reggae and theme nights. The DaLime Beach Club is all about modern, Caribbean cool, and seeing where the day takes you.
At DaLime Beach Club, you’ll enjoy lunch on the beach at one of the nicest spots on the Caribbean Coast, right on Playa Chiquita in Puerto Viejo, hidden by wild jungle and just steps from the sandy beach.
Papaya Restaurant will become your favorite boho hideaway for poolside lounging and leisure. The colors, textures, and aesthetic details make this space effortlessly cool, unlike any other spot in Puerto Viejo.
Aguas Claras’ culinary experience is influenced by its tropical surroundings, international tastes, and the Afro-Caribbean culture of Puerto Viejo.
Only 25 minutes from Hotel Aguas Claras, Cahuita is the best-known National Park on Costa Rica’s Caribbean Coast, home to the largest system of coral reefs in Costa Rica.
On this adventure, you’ll take to the sea on a scenic boat ride, then gear up and go snorkeling to explore the coral reefs. Remember, September and October are the summer months in the Caribbean —on a clear, sunny day with no wind, you can see tropical fish, turtles, coral and even sand sharks.
Once onshore, enjoy a guided hike through Cahuita’s coastal rainforest trails. It’s common to see monkeys, sloths, parrots and many species of birds, poison dart frogs, iguanas and more.
Biking in Puerto Viejo is a must! It’s really easy to get around on bikes because the road is mostly flat and connects you from one beach to the next.
If there is one place you must absolutely bike to, it is Punta Uva. With one of the nicest beaches in the area, it’s also the best place for kayaking tours up to “Eduardo Creek”. You’ll get close to wildlife as you quietly move through the water. You can see river turtles, monkeys, kingfishers, turtles, herons, and many other birds and animals all from the seat of your kayak. This is still an “under-the-radar” tour, so you’ll often find yourself alone on the river enjoying the peace and quiet of the rainforest.
Don’t forget to bring your bathing suit so you can go for a swim at Punta Uva beach. The waters are warm and calm, with no rocks or reefs.
The Caribbean side of Costa Rica is home to the BriBrí, the largest indigenous group in Costa Rica.
On this fascinating tour, you’ll travel to the mountains and visit the Watsi Reservation, where the BriBrí continue to retain their culture, lifestyle, and traditions. You’ll learn that BriBrí maintains a very deep connection to cacao
We recommend to book this tour through a tour company: You’ll need transportation and a bilingual guide, as the BriBrí retain their own language and only a few members of the family speak Spanish. We can help you arrange all the details —just ask us.
*The indigenous communities in Costa Rica are in need of more help from tourism. By visiting the BriBrí, you directly support their community’s economy.
The Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge is situated in one of the most stunningly beautiful regions of Costa Rica.
Classified as a humid tropical rainforest, Gandoca-Manzanillo is an important ecological region. With a 10 kilometer beach strip, a 740 acre forest, a coral reef and 2 swamps, Gandoca-Manzanillo encompasses several rare habitats and protects some the region’s most endangered flora and fauna.
On this 4.5 hour tour, you’ll be accompanied by your own Private Nature Guide who’ll help you interpret the sights and sounds of the jungle. There will be many opportunities for photos of both beach and jungle scenery.
*The best time to visit this refuge is between March to April and September to October, which are considered drier months.
**The turtle nesting season lasts from March to May.
