Venice
Everything you need to know before your visit

Venice, at your feet (or gondola glide) step out of Ca’ di Dio and into the Castello of Venice, one of its most atmospheric districts. Lovers of art, history, architecture, or simply lovers will find plenty here to enjoy. The greenery of the Napoleonic Gardens (which houses the famous Art Biennale) is worth a stroll before you visit the imposing Basilica of San Pietro di Castello. Pop into the Chiesa di San Zaccaria to admire Bellini’s painting of a Madonna and child on its altarpiece. And don’t miss the famous archways of Piazza San Marco, just a short walk away.

ABOUT THE RESORT
A Venetian palace hideaway set in the heart of the Floating City, Ca’ di Dio blends history with luxurious modernity. While parts of the hotel’s building date back to 1272, its latest guise gives it a flawless 21st-century update that reflects the surroundings in every detail. Located at the entrance to the Arsenale district where the famous Art Biennale is held, Ca’ di Dio is the perfect palace to call home while you explore the city.
Rooms

Classic Venetian design. Contemporary finishes, refined textile paneling, wooden frames, windows, and terraces look out onto the spectacle of Venice. Some rooms overlook mimosa and magnolia trees in the hotel’s two peaceful courtyards – others, the lagoon and its fleets of passing gondolas. Splash out on an Altana Suite and enjoy a 360-degree iconic view of San Giorgio and the lagoon from your private terrace.

Dining
At Ca’ di Dio simply decide your mood and there’ll be a dining option to suit. You’ll be hard-pressed to beat the view from Ca’ di Dio’s outdoor restaurant, with breathtaking vistas of the lagoon and the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Dishes are inspired by The Laguna’s typical cuisine and given a thoroughly modern makeover. The ethos here is simple yet refined Venetian home cooking – traditional fish, meat and pasta dishes made using wholly local produce and ingredients from the courtyard garden – served alongside handpicked wines from the Veneto.

Experiences
Ca'di Dio Botanical experience

A special tour of the lagoon to discover the life that populates it and its rhythms. Accompanied by the botanist Gabriele Bisetto you will discover the secrets of the birth and rest of the herbs and plants of the lagoon: an experience to discover, collect and, why not, taste

  1. Start the tour in Burano with delicious aperitives.
  2. Travel the Canale San Felice, enter the heart of the northern lagoon, and start the botanical tour.
  3. The tour moves from the lagoon to the table, where, back at Ca ‘di Dio, the chef of the VERO Restaurant Raimondo Squeo prepares dishes that respect the rhythms of nature and its evolution, according to the dictates of the lagoon.
  4. The experience of the lagoon also continues through the flavors and aromas of the Alchemia Bar, which uses the same ingredients linked to the VERO Restaurant starting from what at the time was the most precious coin: lagoon salt, finely distilled in a Gin of exclusive production of Ca ‘di Dio, Gin Sal, mixed with precious lagoon herbs.

Murano Glass Factory Tour
The small island of Murano is legendary for its artisanal glass blowing. Ca’ di Dio’s guests will have the opportunity to see this historic craft for themselves. After exploring the picturesque township, enjoy a tour of the LP Murano Glass Factory. Here, you will get to see artisans practicing the technique of glass blowing and you’ll also discover more about the hotel’s historic links with stunning Venetian craftsmanship.
Castello District Tour
  1. The journey in the Castello district will begin with a private boat tour to be able to explore some little-known and unusual places in the area: Rio della Tana, right at the Arsenale entrance, and Rio dei Giardini, close to the Biennale.
  2. The tour will continue by boat to San Francesco Della Vigna, the oldest urban vineyard in Venice, where you will have the opportunity to visit one of the two Franciscan churches on the island.
  3. Stop at San Giovanni and Paolo, where you will have the chance to admire one of the most impressive medieval and religious buildings in Venice, and stop by Libreria Acqua Alta, the most famous, an almost floating bookstore in Venice. To end up your journey in the most precious way do not miss the chance to visit Palazzo Grimani, a real jewel in terms of frescoes, stuccoes, and gildings: a Venetian domus aurea.

Lio Piccolo Tour
  • This particular tour was designed to introduce Ca ‘di Dio guests to a less touristy but much more authentic part of Venice: the delicate environment and the lagoon culture in a responsible and respectful way.
  • A walking or bike tour to discover one of the most fascinating corners of the Venetian north lagoon. Lio Piccolo, a picturesque rural village located a few steps from the beaches of Cavallino Traporti and Jesolo, represents a real slice of life in the lagoon
  • Once the bike tour is over, before returning to the hotel, guests will make a short visit to Burano where, among colorful alleys, they will have the pleasure of savoring typical Venetian cuisine in the Al Gatto Nero or Da Romano restaurants. A great way to get to know the flavors of that nature visited a short time before.
Tasting of Cicchetti and local wines
An assortment of typical Cicchetti and accompanying wines at Venice’s traditional bàcari is the perfect intro to the tastes of Venice without committing to a whole meal. Being accompanied by a bàcaro devotèe means you might venture Venetian classics like piovra octopus, fluffy white bàcala mantecato (cooked codfish whipped with olive oil) on polenta, a savory hot polpetta meat or tuna croquet, or a speck, robiolo e tartufo crostino…when you otherwise might pass them by.
